The quantity of 70% national gas production will be allocated to fulfill the necessity of domestic. This portion is increasing from current condition which is around 46%. One of the factors that driven the increased of national gas consumption is the national program of kerosene conversions to LPG which is targeted to be done in 2010. The Indonesian President spoke about that in the opening of Annual Conference and Exhibition of Indonesian Petroleum Association at JCC, Jakarta on Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

Beside the conversion program, the increasing of domestic consumption is caused by development and expansion of petrochemical industries. The government is focusing to develop the petrochemical industries at the energy source location to guarantee gas supply, recent now. But Indonesia will not stop the gas export, especially to country who already becomes customer.
